Required roll inputs
Every Film on Hand roll requires an actual usable width and a positive usable length. Add each physical roll separately when widths or remaining lengths differ.
What is saved
The entered rolls are saved with the current job. Precision Film Systems uses those rolls only for that job's plan.
What Film on Hand is not
- It is not a persistent shop inventory system.
- It does not keep a running balance across jobs.
- It does not automatically subtract material after production.
- It does not know what is physically on the rack unless the user enters it.
Finish Remaining
If the entered rolls cannot place every pane, Finish Remaining plans the unplaced panes on standard material. The resulting standard physical rolls appear as purchasing requirements on the Film Order Sheet. Film on Hand rolls are excluded because the shop already entered them as available material.
Difference from Multi-Roll
Multi-Roll uses at least two selected standard widths without finite available lengths. Film on Hand uses individual physical rolls and is constrained by each roll's entered usable length.
Incompatible mode
Film on Hand cannot currently be combined with Film Handler planning. Use Single-Roll or Multi-Roll when a Film Handler production plan is required.
